PhotoSlim Support

PhotoSlim finds your biggest photos and creates smaller, lossy copies — right on your iPhone or iPad. No accounts, no uploads, no subscriptions.

Getting started

  1. Open PhotoSlim and choose Selected Photos or Full Access. Full Access is required only for Slim All recovery checks.
  2. If no photos appear, drag the size slider at the bottom to the left to lower the minimum size.
  3. Tap a supported local JPEG/HEIC photo or standard video to preview it, then tap Compress and choose quality. RAW, Live Photos, edited assets and other unsupported media are left untouched.
  4. Open Original and Compressed separately to compare, then tap Keep Both or Delete Original. Select mode performs batch replacement with an upfront quality choice and iOS deletion confirmation.

Frequently asked

Are my photos uploaded anywhere? Compression happens locally and nothing is uploaded to developer servers. Apple Photos may download iCloud previews and sync saved copies or deletions according to your settings.

Will I lose my originals? Replacement requires your choice and iOS confirmation. Deletions sync through iCloud Photos. Review copies before permanently deleting verified originals from Recently Deleted; leave unrelated media alone.

Does it keep dates and locations? Copies retain capture date, location, favorites and writable regular-album membership. Some Photos associations do not transfer, and compression can lose detail.
